Francisco Mejia

Francisco’s military occupation was a welder. He was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Francisco served in the United States Marine Corps from July of 2005 to July of 2013. Within that time, he was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, attached to 2nd Amphibious Assault Battalion.

Francisco deployed to Fallujah and Ramadi, Iraq in the spring of 2008 with that unit. He re-enlisted there and upon returning from deployment executed orders to move to Camp Pendleton, California. There he was stationed in 1st Maintenance Battalion were again in the spring of 2009, he was deployed to Afghanistan with CLC-151 where he provided maintenance support to the base at Camp Leatherneck and units stationed around the region.

He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in October of 2009 while there. In 2011, he had to execute orders to go to his final unit at Amphibious Assault Schools Battalion, where he oversaw the Weld/Machine Shop and provided quality control to ensure repairs were properly completed on all vehicles.
