NASHUA — One of North America’s most modern cleanroom facilities, at a price tag of about $20 million, has opened its doors in Nashua and already has plans to expand.

“We have a great staff of 85 people here,” Stefan Schurter, senior vice president of Prudential Cleanroom Services, said of the new laundry processing business at 45 Simon St.

The 70,091-square-foot commercial laundry facility will eventually be expanded by another 45,000 square feet and and then an additional 16,280 square feet, according to Schurter.

Once the project is complete, Prudential Cleanroom Services will occupy more than 12 acres of the site.
