International Women’s Day

Meet Maria Castellanos De Cortez aka “Lupe”, CSR PO8

Maria Castellanos De Cortez aka “Lupe”

“I have worked here for over 5 years now. When I started working at Prudential I was folding aprons inside the plant. I was always eager to learn new things and asked to work various roles in Production. One day I found myself as a single mom and that’s when I decided it was time to do something else. I saw the job posted for a Customer Sales Representative and began to ask the drivers questions about what they did on the job. I interviewed and was provided the opportunity to do a ride along to see if I enjoyed the type of work. It was all new to me, but I really wanted to try something new. It took a while for some of my customers to get used to seeing a girl do this type of job. I feel free when I am driving and enjoy building relationships with my customers. If I could give anyone advise it would be to never give up. Nothing is impossible, just don’t stay stuck in one thing, we can always push ourselves a little more. “ – Lupe C.

Meet Maria Contreras, Laundry Worker P21

Maria Contreras

“I have been with the company for over 6 years. I wanted to be able to communicate with my kids and have greater opportunities to advance my career at work, that is why I took advantage of the tuition reimbursement program. Attending classes at the University of Arizona was not hard, it was a pleasant distraction. I was able to learn something new and meet new people. I hope to use what I have learned to one day work in the front office. I would recommend any employee to take advantage of the benefit that is offered by Prudential. If I had to give one piece of advice to females in the workplace, it would be to learn something new, always go forward never back. “ – Maria C.

Meet Jana Comer, CPA – Vice President of Finance POO

Meet Jana Comer, CPA

“I have been working in my current position for over 4 years now. At my previous employer I had a high stress, high demand job. I wanted more out of life. Success did not come easy for me. I have always been taught to rely on myself and to stay committed to what I do. I knew when I came to Prudential, I wanted a work life balance and I found it here. Being a new mom, it is important for me to have that. My son Josef will be 1 soon and my husband and I want to provide him a good life and teach him how to work hard and be dedicated in life. I want my son to know women can have careers and still be present moms. If I had to give advice to anyone wondering if they can have both a career and family, it would be to take ownership in everything you do. Find the right balance that works for you and commit to working hard at what life brings your way. Prudential Overall Supply has been very supportive and has given me that right balance my family and I want and need. “    – Jana C.
